The Abyss | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Jose Solís Common Sense Media For the rest of us, The Abyss plays very much like a by-the-numbers disaster film in which a select few are chosen to be the characters we care about the most as the world around them is literally swallowed by the ground. Mar 13, 2024 Full Review The Abyss | Rotten Tomatoes (2) John O'Brien Inverse For those who prefer their disaster flicks without so much bombast, then this abyss is worth peeking into. Feb 21, 2024 Full Review The Abyss | Rotten Tomatoes (3) John Serba Decider The application of a little verisimilitude helps a disaster flick like The Abyss go down a little bit easier. Feb 20, 2024 Full Review The Abyss | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Roger Moore Movie Nation Entirely too on-the-nose, time and again, as it saunters towards a finale sure to surprise no one, even those it leaves feeling film-comfort-food satisfied at the end. Rated: 2/4 Feb 18, 2024 Full Review The Abyss | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Lori Meek Ready Steady Cut It’s got an interesting premise, a great cast, and outstanding special effects. However, the plot is predictable, and whatever spark it had in the beginning turns into a snooze fest of a final act. Rated: 2.5/5 Feb 16, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Iskandar S Such piss poor dialogue and storylines. The characters are hardly endearing. The effects are great and the film had promise but turned out to be more absurd than anything else. Rated 1.5/5 Stars • Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/16/24 Full Review Marie H Loved this movie, so glad I came across it Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/12/24 Full Review Mark B Special effects are very good. The characters are pretty engaging and the story is ok. The stakes are high for the town but the story focuses only on the family in question. It loses the viewer in this way as It slows the film down in the third act when it should be reaching a fever pitch. Worth a watch. Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/03/24 Full Review Dawn B Enjoyed this one. Dint get to read much of my book b.utt. 8.5/0. 27.9.24 D.B. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/27/24 Full Review Miguel Z Honestly hard to pay attention since non of the characters are particularly interesting; this made it very difficult to get invested in the film, but I guess their is an audience for this kind of stuff. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/28/24 Full Review Nitsan F Mind numbingly boring, slow and stupid. Oh my god that was horrible. I quit after a half hour of just nothing. Before it gets boring here's the first scene that has 0.5 seconds of action in it: three teenagers are hanging out outdoors (during daytime!) in what looks like an old building site. A huge crack opens beneath them in a split second and two of them immediately fall into it so quietly that the third one doesn't even notice (even though he's right next to them). No shout, no words, they just fall in and disappear. He then turns around to see this huge hole and he just casually stands at the edge of it (RIGHT at the edge like no human would ever do) doing nothing and acting like nothing happened. Then he puts his head close to the ground like he's listening for earthquakes (still no emotion or reaction to his friends having just fallen into a hole). Then he falls in because he's apparently the dumbest person to ever live. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/31/24 Full Review Read all reviews
